AD – #BepanthenProtects

With baby number 4 due imminently and as a household that already uses Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment, I jumped at the chance to do a sponsored post for Bepanthen. They sent out the most adorable little pack with both a 30g and a 100g tube of Bepanthen, a hard cover children’s book and a penguin cuddly toy.

The 100g tube has been used at home, usually after bath time and applied after drying before bed, for protection of delicate skin overnight. I use it on my two year old, who has sensitive skin and Bepanthen is gentle enough not to cause him irritation at all and provides protection against nappy rash.

Bepanthen has a kind to skin formation making it perfect for babies and children with delicate skin, it has

  • No fragrances
  • No colours
  • No preservatives
  • No parabens
  • No antiseptics
  • Contains Provitamin B5 to help skin to repair its natural protective barrier

The 30g tube I have packed in my hospital bag, along with cotton wool pleats. I will clean baby’s bottom with warm water and cotton, dry off and then apply a thin layer of Bepanthen Ointment, which is so gentle it can be used straight from birth, even if your baby is premature.

A newborn baby’s skin is 40% thinner and also softer than adults, which means it is more sensitive to irritants such as those in wee and poo that can cause nappy rash when coming into contact with delicate skin. It’s always a difficult choice when deciding what to use on your baby’s skin but I was pleasantly reassured that Bepanthen is so gentle and safe for newborns.

I’ve been using Bepanthen as and when for about 10 years, with all of my boys and have been using it almost daily for the last three weeks on my two year old after receiving the above package from Bepanthen. Despite him having sensitive skin, as mentioned above, Bepanthen provides gentle protection and despite cutting some molars, we have been fortunate that he has not suffered any soreness or nappy rash this time. It’s just a shame there isn’t an ointment for the grumpiness and the broken sleep!
