I was fortunate with my first-born, in that he hated dirt, so I entered parenting in a false bubble of ‘kids aren’t that dirty at all’, he wore beautiful little clothes and they lasted until he grew out of them. Smug at my parenting excellence and my ability to produce well turned out children, I had more! Needless to say my bubble burst and I landed with a bump back down to reality, first with a child responsible for this –
And then with another that eats like this –
The polo shirt did not survive to tell the tale, and I am not going to lie I didn’t even attempt to try to get the stains out and I just binned it. Problem is, every day he comes out of school covered in paint, or yogurt, or ingredients from a cooking lesson, and it is ridiculous to throw away clothes.
Stain removal is an area I am completely out of my depth, I am one of those people who owns an iron but it sits in the cupboard only to be used about once or twice a year. I also once lost my ironing board, which evidences how often I use it! The ACE stain remover spray and ACE for colours are super easy to use, I used them both to try to get a paint stain from a pair of school trousers that have been washed about 3 times and the paint hasn’t budged at all. I sprayed 5/6 sprays onto the paint and then popped them in the load with rest of the uniform and added a cap of ACE for colours to the wash and washed as normal.
In just one wash the paint had faded and it did need another wash and application of stain removal, but they came clean! I had been fully prepared for the paint not to budge but I am impressed. And for products that are less than £2 each, it is definitely a brand I will use again.
I also discovered that you can dilute the ACE for Colours and use it as a household cleaner! I popped a capful into a bucket of water and mopped my kitchen floor and it smelt amazing!
